Cancellation Policy

All reservations at the Mattocks House are non-refundable.
Due to the nature of event planning and limited availability, we ask that guests carefully review their dates before booking. We’re happy to answer any questions in advance to ensure the house is the right fit for your stay or gathering.

In the event of severe weather, power outages, or natural disasters, please reach out to discuss your options. While we cannot guarantee a refund, we will always do our best to work with you.

House Rules

The Mattocks House is a privately owned historic property. We welcome guests who appreciate its character and charm, and we kindly ask that you treat the home with care and respect during your stay.

Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in: After 4:00 PM

  • Check-out: By 10:00 AM
    Early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request but must be arranged in advance.

Occupancy

  • Maximum of 14 guests permitted

  • Only registered guests may stay overnight

  • Unauthorized visitors or exceeding occupancy may result in termination of stay

General Guidelines

  • Minimum age to book: 21

  • No smoking anywhere on the property, indoors or out

  • No pets allowed

  • No parties or large events without written approval in advance

  • Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Respect for the Property

This is a historic home. Please handle all furnishings, decor, and fixtures with care. Avoid moving large furniture, and do not affix decorations to walls or surfaces without permission.

Children & Safety

  • Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times, especially near stairs, porches, and the waterfront

  • The home is not childproofed — please plan accordingly for younger guests

Dock Use

  • The day dock is available for use by boats up to 28 feet

  • All use of the dock is at the guest’s own risk

  • No overnight docking

  • Children must be supervised when near or on the dock

Events (If Approved)

If your stay involves a wedding, business function, or special gathering:

  • All events must be disclosed and approved at time of booking

  • A separate event agreement may be required

  • Outside vendors (caterers, tents, rentals) must be pre-approved
